I've just straightened my hair without putting anything in it, used gel, used John frieda hair serum, and even put relaxer in it, but they all still leave my hair poofy. And is there anyway it won't take as long to straighten?

I found it will look poofy stright after you have washed it. You need to let your hair settle a bit.
I also use tony %26amp; guy serum after I have washed it but make sure your hair is'nt too wet,and then a bit of wax once dry. Don't forget when putting products in your hair make sure you get under your hair not just on top. :)
I once had the same problem. I know how you feel, it's a pain.

First, blow dry your hair using a round brush, going from the roots to the ends. Use the blowdry with air blowing downward and follow the brush. Once completely dry follow with a ceramic flat iron. Ceramic won't damage your hair as bad. Follow with an anti-frizz serum if you need to.

Depends what kind of hair you have. If your hair's curly, then just straightening it with a flat iron should work. If your hair's also very frizzy, then blow dry it first.
