well my question is recently i got my hair colored at my friend's salon she left my hair beautiful and straight, well anyways yesterday i washed it and then after it dried i started to straighten my hair with my cousin's flat iron and you k now what it left my hair very freakin dry so my question is what kind of flat iron is best for very curly hair and what should i put in my hair before i flat iron it

My stepdaughter got a perm that left her hair pretty dry, and she was very unhappy with the perm itself,as she is very,VERY particular about her hair!!! We bought her a CHI flat iron that she absolutley LOVES!!! It does alot and she uses this CHI "lotion" on her hair that conditions and makes it SHINE, The CHI is a lil pricey ($130.00) but I think it is well worth it as it is guarenteed for life!! God bless

Before you straighten your hair apply hair serum. It will keep your hair from getting dry and crispy. And the best flat iron is the CHI if you can't afford one go with a Revlon from Target. They are just as good.

The very best flat iron out there is the Chi. I will admit that it is expensive. But it is one of those things that will last you a life time if you take care of it. They run around $200. Like I said I know its expensive. One important thing to keep your hair from drying out is to ALWAYS put a straightening product in your hair before you straighten it. This way you protect your hair. I highly recommed the Thermafuse Straight Balm. You have to get it in a salon. This stuff works best with heat. The more heat the better and thats what you are doing when you us a flat iron....putting emense amount of heat on your hair at once. I also recommend using a deep conditioning treatment about once a month to put back that extra moisture you take out. I recommend Pureology Nano Works Deep Conditioner. Again you have to get it at a salon.

i have very curly hair and i use the pro-select hair iron. Its really thin and usually can be found in the mall.. The price is around $150, but it is totally worth it. I can even let my hair dry naturally, then straighten it with the pro-select. It comes out amazing every time! I use Wella hair serum when my hair is wet. It's called Wells Cross Trainer. It keeps my hair nice and shiny, and helps straighten it!

unfortunately alot of people think CHI is the best flat iron, actually they are good, but they arent the best. they do get really really hot, which is a good thing, also a bad thing, The feature that the CHI is missing is a tempurature setting, there isnt one, you get to choose on or off. Try FHI brand flat iron. they are as good of quality as CHI maybe a bit better, they have a temp setting, from 150-450. so therefore if you first get your iron and you cant use it really fast yet you can use it on a lower setting, so not to burn up your hair, when you get used to using it and can move it through your hair faster you can turn up the setting, this isnt an option with the CHI, which i have learned is the reason so many people dry out their hair with a flat iron. You should definately use some kind of syling product on your hair when its wet to protect it while flatironing.

The thing is people think the CHI is the only iron out there, then those same people are the first to tell you a flat iron will ruin your hair, I think i have explained why....The FHI is only available in salons, they retail for about the same as CHI, maybe a bit lower...call around and see which salon in your area can get you one..You will love it.. If money is an issue, i recommend look around local retailers for a cermaic iron, with a temperature gauge, not just on and off switch..Hope this helps you.
