If I straighten my hair, will it look better?

Right now my hair Is kinda curly on the end and I'm wondering if it would look better if I straighten it. I'm a guy with about should length hair. Do you think it will look better?

If I straighten my hair, will it look better?

couldn't hurt, i think it'll look good. ^_^

If I straighten my hair, will it look better?

maybe. but it will get annoying after a while/

If I straighten my hair, will it look better?

possibly. Depends on how thick it is. If its thick, then it should look fine, if its not, then it might not look too good. But it would never hurt to try something new!

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

I just bought a straighten/curling iron from Walmart. I have curly/frizzy hair. Everytime i use it the top of my hair is perfectly straight and the layers under are all curly. I try overlapping but it doesnt straighten very well. also the ends are never straight!! EVER!! Help plz!!

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

ok. first of all, if you are serious about getting it to look nice invest in Redken "smooth down" shampoo and conditioner and a product called heat glide that is used before and after it is dry. these products will help smooth out the hair because your type of hair lacks moisture which you need to replenish.secondly invest in a flat iron recommended from a stylist. The ones at wal mart are cheaply made and will only end up frying your hair.{Sally's beauty supply} has quality inexpensive ones also.Start at the nape of your neck working in sections, using a clip to keep the rest of your hair out of the way and work your way up. patience, no one ever said beauty was easy!

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

well underneath you straighten it. for the ends you use defrizzer it works wonders i should know.

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

Three things, use a serum for frizzy hair, ask your stylist if he has a product made for hot iron use, and pull up the top hair to get to the bottom hair and use smaller sections.

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

Make sure you use a good straightening solution or balm that u can buy from walmart or ur local supermarket. Dont straighten ur hair all in one go. do it in sections. EX. put ur hair half up and straighten the underneath first then do the top. The only thing is if u hair is very thick and curly u may need a better straightening iron. Hope all goes well

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

use Fructise (don't know spelling) moose stuff. then you blow dry it with your head turned over so your hair falls down in front of you and all you see is he outer layer of hair. put the dryer on high/hot to work best.

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

Your straightener needs to be ceramic. then you wont have frizzy hair. also use leave in conditioners.

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

I have had experience in this I would straighten underneath, that should work! Good Luck! :)

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

get a flat iron called a chi it does wonders

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

well...i would try sectioning off your hair, to be certain that you are getting to all of it. try a smothing spray such as sleek look flat iron spray by matrix, and comb the section, allowing the flat iron to follow.

if the iron doesnt seem to be working...i hate to say it...but its the brand! try going to a beauty supply store and picking up a cermaic iron with heat control. the ceramic is wonderful...it maintains hair moisture and shine.

my personal favorite iron is "chi" but if that is beyond your budget, try a wigo or hot tools iron...

good luck!!!

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

i have the same hair, curly frizzy. i have a really crappy straightener and i have the same prob with the layers. 1st comb through all my hair, and lin it up in 3 layers, like my hair so i do one layer at a time. i straighten the hair first then go over with a curling iron. it sounds funny i know, but it works. also spray each layer right away when its done.

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

i've come to find that a flat iron with ceramic plates. they heat up the best. i bought mine at target and it's super thin so you can get to the very root of your hair. try to blow dry your hair straight first then try straightening it in sections only about an inch to 1 1/2 inches thick. i bought my straightener from Target and it has a heat temp. but it's always on 25 and it also has a like "turbo" thingy which gives it even more heat....it also heats up and cools off very quickly here a link to a pick of it: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref... the only diff. is that mines is ConAir and it only cost me $16.

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

Split your hair into layers. Take a clip and clip the top of layer of your hair first. Then straighten the underneath part. Take out the clip and then create another layer to straighten. This way should mean that all of your hair is straightened. Also it depends on what kind of straightener you use and how much hair you have. If ou have very little hair it should be easy but having a lot of hair is much harder. Hopefully these tips help you!

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

All you need is a round brush, a blow dryer, some hair products and about 30 minutes.

Steps:

1. Towel-dry your just-washed hair.

2. Apply a heat protectant to your hair, paying special attention to the ends.

3. Place a quarter-size dollop of straightening balm in your palm. Rub your palms together to distribute the product in your hands, then massage it evenly throughout your hair.

4. Comb through your hair with your fingers while gently drying it on a low setting. This removes excess water.

5. Pull your hair into three sections, two at the sides and one at the back. Clip the two sides up.

6. Select a small portion of the hair from the unclipped section.

7. Using a thick, round brush and beginning at the roots, gently pull the brush through the hair to the ends while you blow-dry it. Pull the hair away from your head, stretching and straightening it as you go.

8. First pull the brush through the underside of your hair so that you expose it directly to the heat of the dryer. Once that area is mostly dry, switch to the top of the hair.

9. Keep the tension consistent and evenly distribute heat over the section of hair you're working on. This ensures uniform hair texture and prevents overdrying of certain areas.

10. Continue with the other sections of damp hair.

Tips:

Always point the dryer down as you are blow-drying the hair; blowing hair upward can cause frizzies.

Tame flyaway hair with an antifrizz serum or pomade. Place a few drops in your hand, rub gently to distribute it, then apply it your hair according to the product instructions.

Wash your hair and use a conditioner. Leave a little in, it will make your hair smoother! Wring out your hair using a towel until it is no longer dripping. Starting at the top of your head, section your hair into sections. Using a brush, or comb, blow dry. I would also recommend investing in a hair straightener. A straightener made of ceramic is better for your hair.

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

whith a blow drier straight down

thats what i do

and my hair is all nice and staright

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

Using a shampoo and conditioner for curly hair is one of the best things to start with. Try sleek sh. and cond. Then use power straight by straight sexy hair before you blow dry. Even if you let it air dry this is the best product to use. Also, you should sections off the hair no wider than the size of the iron it's self..

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

use a hair straihtener

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

Flat Iron(ceramic) and Silk Infusion by Farouk Hair Systems from Houston

What's the best way to straighten your hair?

Use a straightening cream before you dry your hair. I would also suggest blow drying it with a flat brush to get it sort of straight before you use the hair iron. Then seperate your hair into a few sections. Do the underneath part of your hair a little at a time to make sure it really gets straight. This works for me and I have really thick curly hair. Also- it depends on the iron. It's really worth it to get a good ceramic iron-anything else really doesn't work on curly hair.

Bottom of my hair curls up after 1 day after I straighten with flat iron?

My hair reaches my shoulders, and after I straighten my hair with a flat iron, after 1 or 2 days the ends that touch my shoulder just curl up(it looks really weird, since I'm a guy). I'm going to go to a wedding out of state next week for 4 days. I was at first going to use a relaxer, but a lot of people said not to do it if I'm not a professional. So then I decided to straighten right before I leave, then not wash my hair while I'm there. So I wanted to keep my hair straight the entire time. My hair doesn't get oily for a long time. What can I use?

Bottom of my hair curls up after 1 day after I straighten with flat iron?

I bought the True Ceramic pro flat iron. It stops all humidity from getting back to your hair once you straighten it. It is just phenomal. Believe me, my hair is demonic curly and without chemicals that's the only thing that works.

Bottom of my hair curls up after 1 day after I straighten with flat iron?

....hehe....u remind me of this guy named Jack....lolness....

Bottom of my hair curls up after 1 day after I straighten with flat iron?

Just take to straightener with you

Can you chemically straighten month after dying your hair?

my hair is very wavey .

my hair always look better straightend

i use to use my straightener everyday but it fried my hair so much so i stopped

i wanna be able to come out of the shower with my hair drying straight instead of it getting all wavey it bothers me so much

so would i be safe to chemically straighten my hair a month after coloring it?

and how much does it cost ?

how long does i last?

how well does it work?

Can you chemically straighten month after dying your hair?

it costs about 200$

last about a year

it works well but when the perm is over, your hair will be fried frizzy and dry

Can you chemically straighten month after dying your hair?

It lasts until your natural hair grows back. From what Ive heard it doesn't work well and is expensive.

Can you straighten permed hair once without ruining the perm?

i got my hair permed a month ago, and i just want to straighten it once, will that ruin the perm? my hair was already naturally curly.

Can you straighten permed hair once without ruining the perm?

no it wont ruin the perm just dont to it to often because it can lose the curls and volume of it but just once is fine

Can you straighten permed hair once without ruining the perm?

no you can really mess your hair up. go to the hairdressers

Can you straighten permed hair once without ruining the perm?

It will probably pop back when you wet or wash it again, mine does.

Can you straighten permed hair once without ruining the perm?

yes i have done it before just use a comb not a brush

Can I chemically straighten my hair?

I have very curly hair, and I am wondering, will it work if I chemically straighten it? Please and thanks!

Can I chemically straighten my hair?

Yes! Although it is quite pricey. It can cost more than $100. GO TO A SALON. You will regret it if you do it yourself! It can take a pretty long time getting it done for the first time, too. (My first time took 7 hours!!) You can get your roots done every 6 months. My hair used to be insane! I still have to straighten it with a flat-iron though.

Can I chemically straighten my hair?

YEAH GET A STRAIGHT PERM

Can I chemically straighten my hair?

yes you can you can get japense hair straighting or some other kind of hair straighting go to your hair stylish and they tell you more about it with the price and stuff!

Can I chemically straighten my hair?

I would not prescribe you go for chemical straightening. Not to scare you, but I have heard of a few people who have shown hyper-allergic reactions to the chemicals and lost all their hair... it then grows back never ever the same...

I suggest you rather get a hairstyle you like, and blow out your hair regularly, or get a flat iron - just use it with heat protective product. On lazy days, just let the hair go with their own flow, wild curly do's are all the hype, girlfriend. LOL.

If you want it permanently straightened, go for lazer therapy. It's expensive, but it really works.

Can I chemically straighten my hair?

The first thing to consider is the integrity of your hair. What kind of products are you using? Do you color it? Do you use heat (flat irons, curling irons blow dryers) on a regular basis? The next thing to consider is how badly do you want your hair to be straight? A chemical relaxer is one of the WORST things you can do to your hair. And it will only RELAX, not change the hair follicle. You will still need to blowdry and flat iron to get it totally straight, which will also damage your hair. Depending on how curly your hair is you may be very unhappy with the results. Depending on the length of your hair, you may consider getting a good blow out once in a while or flat ironing it. With proper care it can last about a week. Getting a wet set for larger, more relaxed curls is also an option. This can also last about a week when done properly. There is no way to say for certain, without examining your hair if a chemical straightening will totally work. But like I said before, it will only relax it, not totally take out the curl.

Can I chemically straighten my hair?

yeah i had mine chemically straightened=] idk if i told you... lol

Is there a way to permanantly straighten hair?

I am really bad with my hair so I don't want anything I have to do myself. Is there something I can get done at a salon to make my wavy hair straight? I'm only thirteen so I don't want to use a whole lot of chemicals and I was hoping for something that isn't bad for my hair.

Is there a way to permanantly straighten hair?

Most salons will permanently straighten your hair, but seeing as you only have wavy hair the solution that they use won't be as strong and as bad for your hair, you usually can't wash, pin or tie up your hair for at least 48 hours. As long as you look after your hair and use weekly treatments it should be fine. But the hairdresser won't permanently straighten your hair if you have bleached hair, and also remember that it grows out with your natural hair and can be quite expensive!

Is there a way to permanantly straighten hair?

duh

but it is bad for your hair

Is there a way to permanantly straighten hair?

any perm is bad for your hair.

you can't escape that.

however it's considered "good damage" C:

and yes, most salons should be able to permanently straighten it.

How do I straighten my hair with using flat irons or any kind of heat.?

Ok see the last time i`ve had a perm was in November, my hair doesn`t look really bad, I just want it to be straight without using heat. My mom told me that Pink Oil Moisturizer can straighten it out if I just put It on my ends or all over my head, are there any other tips?

How do I straighten my hair with using flat irons or any kind of heat.?

ummm No. I think

How do I straighten my hair with using flat irons or any kind of heat.?

no you would kinda have to use heat if you have not had a perm

How do I straighten my hair with using flat irons or any kind of heat.?

You have to use a flat iron

When I straighten my hair . . . ?

Okay --

When I straighten my hair it looks so good for the first housr but then when the 6 - 7 hour school day is over its like wavy. How can I get my hair to stay straight all day??

Thanks 閳?br> Sophiee!

When I straighten my hair . . . ?

I straighten my hair too. Are you living in a humid area? Sometimes this will do the trick to make it go back curly or frizzy.

What I would use after you straighten your hair is called "Biosilk" (Costco is the cheapest place to purchase I think) This works awesome...

Try that....

Good luck!

When I straighten my hair . . . ?

I have curly hair that i straighten too and being in a place with intense humidity its hard to keep my hair from frizzing or waving back up but i put this stuff in my hair called biosilk, it protects it from waving or frizzing all day long, i got some new stuff called silkening serum by Kenra, very good stuff.

When I straighten my hair . . . ?

try leave in conditner by herbal essences

When I straighten my hair . . . ?

Ohh this used to happen to me ALL the time.

Its annoying, I know.

Well...

It depends on your hair mostly...

If you have layers, to get it to be stick straight %26amp;%26amp; STAY that way, you have to seperate your hair and straighten it layer by layer..

So if you have your hair in, say... 4 layers... Put the top three layers up in a ponytail [%26amp;%26amp; then if you can, pin it to the top of your head to keep the ends out of the way], and straighten the bottom layer. Then, let down all your hair. Then put UP the top 2 layers, and straight ten the bottom and second to bottom layers [yes, straighten the bottom layer again.. there's really no way around it]. Do that for all the layers.

Also, Ive found that seperating ur hair SIDEWAYS works too... Like put your hair in pigtails, and straighten the ends... You'll still have to seperate your hair by layers, but it helps make it easier...

Also, to really get a good straightening, the first time you straighten a strand of hair, run the straightener through SLOWLY, and make sure the pice that you're straghtening is completely pulled out straight... in other words dont let it be just hanging there; pull it straight with a brush or your fingers..

The bottom layers, believe it or not, are the layers Ive found to be the least straight staying.. So make sure you attack them extra : ]

After you have gotten ur hair all straightened, to KEEP it straight all day, CONTINUE straightening it... If you have thick hair, straightening it after it is actually straightened helps to thin it %26amp;%26amp; keep it straight all day long...

For whatever reason, putting gel in my hair doesnt keep it straight.. it curls it for me.. Thats probably just my own thing though.. Hair spray DOES work, you just have to make sure that your hair doesnt have any kinks in it when you spray it.

Hope this helped : D

How Do I straighten Short hair?

My hair is very short, it doesnt even reach my shoulders. How can I straighten it?

How Do I straighten Short hair?

unless your hair is 1 inch long, then you can straighten it with a flat iron.

my hair is chin length, and i use a flat iron almost everyday.

How Do I straighten Short hair?

first, you put ur hair in a half pony tail. you straighten the hair thats not in the pony tail.. once ur done with that, you put it in a loose hair tie (to avoid creasing) , then u let down the half pony tail and straiten that part. then you let down the under layer, and viola!

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

I have naturally thick n' curly hair. I love it when I have the curls undercontrol, it just looks good, it suits me.

But I straighten it also, maybe once or twice a week at teh most.

Does this make curls more hard to control, even after a shower?

Thanx! Dont forget to tell me, what your hair like naturaly? and do you always straigthen it if its curly?

ThAnX!!! :)

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

first of i would like to start by saying hi! :D

second im going to tell you about my hair. i have medium lenght hair and kinda thin and wavy curl. i used to straighten it everyday!! but then i started to get kind of bald!! sort of becasue i dont have alot of hair. so now i do it whenever i go out like 2 or 3 times a week a t the most r lest sometimes.

now you have thick hair so it shouldnt be a problem , but a lot of heat damages your hair, loosing its original color and shine.

if you do it a lot it doesnt make your hair more rebel and become more curliour.

just dont do it every day!! youll damage your hair really bad!

i dont use flat iron but the blow drier.

hope this help!! :D

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

yes

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

I try to, but I have 2 1/2 kids so it's hard too. I have a lot of coarse thick wavy hair. Nomally if I straighten my hair alot, it starts to stay straight for a while even after a washing.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

I have naturally curly hair and I straighten it every day because I don't like curly hair anymore. I've been straightening it every day for more than 10 years and it doesn't make the curls more uncontrolable or anything. I also have 2 kids, but after straightening it for so many years I've gotten really good at it!! :)

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

it gets burned if you use hot irons or blowdryers on your hair make sure to get an update at your salon and ask for some tips

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

yes everyday althopugh my hair is not that wavy but i like how it looks

i put this little thing on my hair so it doesnt burn

i love my hair and i want it to look good

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

no, my hair is straight

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

my friends have outta control curly hair and they straighten it everyday so it pretty much doesnt matter if they straighten it or not itll always be the same (until after they straighten it itll be straight!)

my hair is naturally straight and never frizzes. (lucky me!) my friends totally envy me for that lol.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

I also have thick but curly hair, and sometimes I do straighten them. I like to use the MaxiGlide straightener. With that, I just have to use it once a week and I'm good, depending on the weather. In the summertime, I don't bother with straightening my hair. I either pull my hair back in a ponytail or let it as it is.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

My hair is medium to thick and is naturally curly, most of the time i straighten it because during school when i am bored i play with it a lot and when its curly and i play with it too much it gets frizzy. When you straighten your hair it isn't harder to control your curls, actually it makes the curls tighter, its like when you hold a spring straight then let it go it goes smaller then it normally would, then goes back to normal length, thats kinda how hair works. You striaghten it, then take a shower, and it becomes a tighter curl (like the spring would go tighter than normal) and then when you take another shower without straightening agian in between...its goes back to normal curls (like the spring goes tighter when you let go then goes to normal length)

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

My hair is naturally wavy.

But I straighten it daily.

But I also get it trimmed every 5 weeks, to get rid of split ends.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

Yes i have naturally curly hair and i straighten it every day.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

My hair is naturally curly and coarse, but I hardly straighten it. I like to keep it natural, it looks better. Straightening it frequently makes it harder to control.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

i only straighten my hair once a week and it stays straight untill i have a hair wash. i always make sure that i use heat defence spray so that my hair doesnt get damaged. My natural hair is curly/wavy

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

I have really curly, frizzy, dry hair. I straighten it maybe once a week. I perfer my hair straight, it looks good.

My stylist and my hairdresser have said that straightening is bad, however, it does make the hair less curly over time. If you want to not damage it as much, use a product that helps fix damage or works well with heat; like Thermasilk.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

Yes. Straightening, dying, or curling your hair damages it really badly. When your hair is damaged badly, it's really hard to control.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

my hair is naturally really thick so i don't straighten it that much. it takes to long and doesn't even look like i did any thing. at the most once a week since its already i straight. i only use the straightener cause it gets the frizz out. but im not sure if straightening it makes it harder to deal with

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

my hair is kinda wavy bu t i straighten it.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

my hair is naturally straight, but it has a lotta body so it kinda waves so i straigten it quite often.

but if ur hair is naturally curly, ur hair goes bak and forth from curly to straight and its just workin hard figuring out what to do. like for graduation i had my hair REEEEALLY curly....but wen i went to straighten it the nxt day it just wouldnt do it! so i took another shower and made sure i brushed it really straight b4 i straightend it again.

just use a smoothing, anti-frizz serum wen you wear ur hair curly and it should be kept under control.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

my hair is naturally straight....sorry.

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

i have really curly blonde hair, but no one knows that because i straighten every day for school. they all think i have straight hair! LOL yay me.......love curly hair but not on me. every one in my family think my golden curls are cute but i dont!! LOL...

Do you straighten your hair all the time?

my hair is think and straight. umm so i don't need to straighten my hair. i love my natural hair. yeah when i get older, maybe sometimes i'll straighten it. i love thick and curly hair. you are lucky!

Can you straighten synthetic hair?

I am thinking of buy hair u wear synthetic hair extensions but I need to know if I can straighten them and if I can

can I just wash it out and it will curl back?

Can you straighten synthetic hair?

I don't think you can. to be sure ask a hair stylist!

Can you straighten synthetic hair?

Yes, on the absolute lowest setting, otherwise it will burn

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

Is it ok, or too damaging? I'd use a heat protectant every time I straighten it. And I condition my hair every day. My hair is really thick and curly and I hate it..

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

Yes, every other day is fine. Don't turn it up all the way unless you have ethnic hair though, or even 3/4 the way up unless you are Asian. Take smaller sections so it doesn't need to be so hot.

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

well umm it kinda damages it but i have the oppesit problem my hair is thin and straight and i curl it once in a while and its kinda damaging my hair soo i guess a hair straitner will do the same

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

it would be okay, but try not to use highest temperature?

if you definitely need to use highest temp. you can try air drying it first and don't blowdry.

also rinse hair with cool water so your hair isn't shoved with heat after heat after heat.

also, it is important to deep condition every weekend to prevent split ends!

hope i helped! :))

[edit] also, i forgot to mention, try not to straighten it on the weekends when you're not going out so it can cool off a bit!

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

Well, occasionally you can straighten it. Every other day probably might damage it but it might not. Although you ARE using a heat protectant thingy, it might not be effective every time. Twice a week would probably be the best, but if you have to straighten it, three.

Other Advice: Do not worry about the way your hair looks, curly wavy, or straight, if you have a good attitude towards others, and you're kind, then there is nothing else to worry about!

Hope I helped you and good luck with your hair!

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

I went through a phase where I straightened my hair every day for a few months, and despite my friends warning me again and again that I would "ruin" my hair, nothing terrible happened. Straightening can dry out your hair, and also weaken your hair which could lead to slight thinning. Otherwise, it isn't all that dangerous. Besides, your hair is constantly growing, so no damage is permanent. It sounds like you are taking care of your hair by using heat protectant, so I wouldn't worry about it. If your hair starts to dry out, you could always stop, or try doing something else to help it, like using a special shampoo for people who straighten their hair. But what you're doing should be fine. :)

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

Yepp. Just put in a protective hair serum and deep condition it every othre day. Plus get the ends trimmed regularly. In summer lay off the flat iron and make sure your using a ceramic iron, not a cheap Conair metal imitation from Walmart. Excessive use will cause major damage though. If you want your hair straightened that much then get an at home kit relaxer to permanently straighten it.

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

It is a liitle bad, but if you are using a heat protectant, I wouldn't do it every other day. try wrapping your hair at night. wrapping it keeps it straight and you won't have to put heat on it so much.

Is it OK to straighten your hair every other day?

I think it is too damaging, because all that heat could be breaking your hair and when u come ur hair, your hair might pop and break. The only time I have a hot iron on my hair is when I go to get my hair done, which is every week

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

And no, I'm not being racist, just asking a question based on my observations.

White girls generally go natural with their hair. Sure, they'll dye it different colors or give it a slight curl or slight straighten once in a while, but they rarely dramarically change it to being like black girls natural hair. Where as black girls usually do dramatically change theirs and straighten it like white girls hair instead of going natural. Sure, some go natural, but most don't.

Why?

Please, if you decide to answer this question with a question, still explain what I asked above. Thankyou.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Because it is more easy to manage and because no offense to anyone but some "whites" are more comfortable with blacks who have straight hair as opposed to course dreaded hair. I do believe that it is a sub conscious bias...but unfortunately we live in a country that is control by others and not by all so often you have to summit to others standards in order to be successful. I'm sure someone will say I'm racist but I dont expect you to understand because I live in my black skin everyday along with my "nappy" hair :) so I know what's going on. I hope that I enlightened you

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

black people please dont answer this

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Because they can.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

I actually haven't noticed that, but if it's true, i think black girls' hair are more unruly and harder to control then white girls' hair. maybe that's why black girls do more stuff with their hair then white girls.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Ok, I see what you mean. BUT, why do white girls tan? Are they trying to be hispanic or black? Why don't they go natural and leave their skin color alone? I think they do it because straight hair is easier to tame. Besides, straight hair looks nicer. NOW, why do white girls tan?(I think you should post this question too huh?)

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Black girls straighten their hair because it's easier to manage. I personally like my hair natural. I was lucky enough to be born with very beautiful curly hair that isn't too tightly curled or thick. I know a whole lot of white girls who straighten their hair. Dyeing your hair is not being natural. Chemicals are used when you dye your hair, so white girls are doing exactly the same thing as black. Women in general try to change their looks.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

i agree with pamela.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

First off, i want to know what u mean by "natural"? Is there a certain way a black person's hair has to be? Cuz my hair is straight and natural and im black! And yes i was born with my hair like that. But to answer your question, straight hair is easier to manage

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

It's fashion that's all.

Ignoring race, let's look to pop culture -- remember the Brady Bunch when they all got a perm? The guys looked hilarious! Sigh, I guess it was hip at the time.

Fashion will never be understood by a social observer.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

its not a racist question so i don't see why i shouldn't answer it (black girl here)

black women have too much volume and its hard to manage our hair, its thicker than the average white girls hair and more wiry. white women with thin hair use something to add volume but we have to straighten to get rid of some of the volume (no shampoo for us)

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Many white girls get spiral perms and body waves.

I live in Houston and many of the white girls here DO NOT GO NATURAL!

Those with curly hair, flat iron it. Those with straight hair, curl it or get curly perms.

However, I'm sure more white girls than blacks girls go natural, but if your hair was very thick, very curly, and hard to manage with you struggle with it daily, or go get a relaxer to make it more easy to manage?

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

because their hair is absolutely disgusting and they know it. they get offended when white people flip their hair up and stuff because their nappy hair wont do it. if you ever saw a black girl with nice hair, it's a good wig, hair extensions, or otherwise completely unnatural.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Because if they let their hair go normal it'd look like a big rats nest.

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

Idk what kind of straightener I have, my aunt gave it to me cuz i cant afford to buy a new one. I need to straighten my hair really badly because its so wavy. If I wait till it dries after a shower, it frizzes up really bad and so I want to know when I get out of the shower and towel dry it, can I straighten it like that? I dont think i have a special type of wet straightener or whatever but I wanna straighten it while its towel dried..

P.S.

1 dont suggest not taking a shower.. or else my hair will get greasy.

2 dont say buy a new straightener because i dont have the money.. thanks in advance =]

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

It's far away from okay. Straightening your hair while wet kills your hair, it damages it, drys it out and it makes your hair even frizzier. Don't ever straighten your hair while wet. Wait till hair is 100% dry. Buy John frieda Frizz Ease. It will prevent your hair from turning frizzy.

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

NO! It fries your hair and ruins your straightener!

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

hmm...

maybe buy some kind of anti-frizz syrum or something? (Frizz-Ease)

straightening your hair while it's wet is REALLY bad for it

=]

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

Straightening hair WHEN WET will damage it extremely. Buy a anti-frizz product (i.e. frizz-ease, citrishine, etc) and apply this when it is wet. This should help reduce or eliminate the frizz when it dries so that you can safely and effectively straighten you hair.

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

no

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

no no no. that hella damages your hair. it already does enough damage to your hair[overtime] when your hair is dry. and when its wet, that is a million times worse.

i suggest getting anti-frizz gel or something like that so your hair wont frizz. and then straighten your hair when it dries.

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

no, it will dry out your hair and cause frizzies if you do it too often

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

No, you can't do that. Just blow dry it before you straighten it.

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

How about blow dry it before hand?

And don't straighten it while it's wet it can fry and look burnt and unhealthy.

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

your hair might get frizzy

but buy anti frizz stighting stuff

blow dry your hair

part it and stighten it

it migh ttake a long time

but wet strightening it kills your hair

Is it okay to straighten my hair while its wet?

nnnnnooooo,your hair will fall out!!

don't do that!

Keeping hair straight after i straighten?

i run in the mornings with my cross country team and i straighten my hair and by the time i get insige my hair is wavy or curly at the ends...its kinda pretty but so days i want it completly straight but my mom wont let me bring my chi to school ...what should i put in my hair to keep it straight and not poofy

Keeping hair straight after i straighten?

Hello. Here are a few options,

1. Put your hair in a ponytail

2. Use hairspray

3. Use a gel

Keeping hair straight after i straighten?

keep your hair up.

the sweat wont get on your hair and make it wet

so then it wont dry curly

Keeping hair straight after i straighten?

you could put hairspray in your hair.. its probably because of the humidity!

How do I straighten wavy hair?

My hair is really wavy and it is also thick. Whenever I straighten it is kind of works but the ends are still the same and the rest isn't that straight! I hate having wavy think hair and thats why I like to straighten it. Please help me!

How do I straighten wavy hair?

use a de-frizzing product and straiten only small sections at a time.

go slow and make sure you have a good hair straightener or else its alot harder.

How do I straighten wavy hair?

Ok, they have hair straightening gel and shampoos. Also, buy a profession hair straightener brand like revelon or conair. (about 15-30 dollars)

hope it helps!!

How do I straighten wavy hair?

your hair sounds just like mine!! i would say instead of fighting w/ the straightener every morning, use some curl enhancing shampoo and scrunch it, i think that would be easier plus it would look nice....... !!

How do I straighten wavy hair?

i would put in a straightening serum before you dry your hair and then straighten it. or you can straighten it layer by layer instead of one huge chunk, but that woul take more time

How do I straighten wavy hair?

Wavy hair is gorgeous. Leave it be.

How do I straighten wavy hair?

tie the ends of your hair to one horse, and you feet to another

fire a gun up into the air

How do I straighten wavy hair?

Well, when I first got my straightener, I had the same problem. It's always a good idea to separate hair into sections. I also use a heat defense cream which sometimes helps but I still don't like using my straightener because it often doesn't work out.

I also find it straightens better when I've blow dried my hair first.

How do I straighten wavy hair?

well you cud have ur hair thinned and layerd to your face by a professional and have them straighten it for you ..afterwards use some straighting cream and buy a professional flat iron and straighten away becareful not to damaage your hair tho..use a heat resistant cream

hope it helpsssssssssss!:)

How do I straighten wavy hair?

The best product to use in the world to straighten any hair is the Chi hair serum and the Chi hair straightener. I cannot live without it and I have curly hair. Your hair feels healthy and it doesn't frizz like all the other products. If you buy it at the saloon like me, you will spend almost 200.00 but they sell that on ebay for around 70.00. I'm telling you, you will worship it!!!

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

i have short, thick, extremely curly hair ( cant iron it so please dont say iron it) uhh.. i tried blow drying my hair but it just gets puffy. is there any way to straighten my hair ?

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

Just make sure that your straightner is a good brand and is ceramic and is heated up properly.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

get a straight perm.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

With a hair straightener.!!!

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

hair straightener. hands down. OR get out of the shower with wet hair and use a round brush and a hair dryer with a diffuser.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

Go to the lady that does your hair and she can straighten it with the straitner she has a proffessional one it worked for me

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

If you can't iron it yourself or blowdry it straight, i'd suggest going to a hair salon and get them to do it for you.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

there are many products out there, consult your local cosmotolgist, or just cut it.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

Well, blow drying it doesn't really do anything, it just makes it easier to flat iron. Of course it'll be puffy. You can't straighten your hair PERFECTLY without a straightening iron, so maybe you should just get a relaxer. Otherwise, we can't help you, seeing as though you eliminated the only way.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

You would have to straighten it, you could not do it any other way, sorry.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

If you've got extremely thick hair there is no way you can straighten your hair(except iron)

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

theres a lot of straightening cremes and things to make ur hair less poofy after uve blowed dryed it.

since ironing doesnt work, id recommend using a Redken milk product, i havent gotten it in a while so i forget the name but its in a little bottle and its like milk creme or something and u only use a drop and it works amazingly it makes ur hair realli shiny and less poofy.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

flat iron

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

well.... hair straighteners of course.

...be sure to use some kind of heat protection spray on your hair though before you use them.

...another option would be to get your hairdresser to put a chemical straightener on your hair.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

Um sorry but your gonna have to deal with the fact that your hair is completely unmanageable. NO PERMS, do you want to **** your hair up? like seriously. god, who gets a ******* perm.

anyways, maybe you should get it professinaly done/straightened, start using straighting shampoo and conditioner and yeah, see what happens.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

Do not wash it daily. The more natural oils that you keep sudsing away with shampoos and stuff the powf-ier it's going to get. Forget a regular blow dryer, get one that's a "Diffuser" dryer that doesn't blow a straight air stream, it is spread out and works great. Use your fingers and hands more to shape it when styling than combs, brushes.

Whats a good way to straighten curly hair?

I own GHDs and swear by them, make sure there for your hair type, there expensive but so worth it... once you get ghd's you wont go back (all my friends who have used/owned) agree. I'd make sure you use a good styling product as well. Mine always goes flyaway and fluffy when hair dry I just straiten it with them. Is there not a hairdresser near you that uses them or even give you tips on what to use and advise you what irons they use.

Oh and Boots do a BOOTS STRAIGHTEN kit I'll add link below I've tried it's amazing did straiten my hair for a while :) tho I got my boyf's sister (ex hairdresser) to do for me.

Which flat iron is the best to straighten very curly hair + 1question more?

okay

first of all i would like to say how's everybody today

well my question is recently i got my hair colored at my friend's salon she left my hair beautiful and straight, well anyways yesterday i washed it and then after it dried i started to straighten my hair with my cousin's flat iron and you k now what it left my hair very freakin dry so my question is what kind of flat iron is best for very curly hair and what should i put in my hair before i flat iron it

Which flat iron is the best to straighten very curly hair + 1question more?

My stepdaughter got a perm that left her hair pretty dry, and she was very unhappy with the perm itself,as she is very,VERY particular about her hair!!! We bought her a CHI flat iron that she absolutley LOVES!!! It does alot and she uses this CHI "lotion" on her hair that conditions and makes it SHINE, The CHI is a lil pricey ($130.00) but I think it is well worth it as it is guarenteed for life!! God bless

Which flat iron is the best to straighten very curly hair + 1question more?

Before you straighten your hair apply hair serum. It will keep your hair from getting dry and crispy. And the best flat iron is the CHI if you can't afford one go with a Revlon from Target. They are just as good.

Which flat iron is the best to straighten very curly hair + 1question more?

The very best flat iron out there is the Chi. I will admit that it is expensive. But it is one of those things that will last you a life time if you take care of it. They run around $200. Like I said I know its expensive. One important thing to keep your hair from drying out is to ALWAYS put a straightening product in your hair before you straighten it. This way you protect your hair. I highly recommed the Thermafuse Straight Balm. You have to get it in a salon. This stuff works best with heat. The more heat the better and thats what you are doing when you us a flat iron....putting emense amount of heat on your hair at once. I also recommend using a deep conditioning treatment about once a month to put back that extra moisture you take out. I recommend Pureology Nano Works Deep Conditioner. Again you have to get it at a salon.

Which flat iron is the best to straighten very curly hair + 1question more?

use a hair streghtening spray b4 then when washing ur hair make sure u use a conditioner and use a wide straightener so its easier

Which flat iron is the best to straighten very curly hair + 1question more?

i have very curly hair and i use the pro-select hair iron. Its really thin and usually can be found in the mall.. The price is around $150, but it is totally worth it. I can even let my hair dry naturally, then straighten it with the pro-select. It comes out amazing every time! I use Wella hair serum when my hair is wet. It's called Wells Cross Trainer. It keeps my hair nice and shiny, and helps straighten it!

Which flat iron is the best to straighten very curly hair + 1question more?

unfortunately alot of people think CHI is the best flat iron, actually they are good, but they arent the best. they do get really really hot, which is a good thing, also a bad thing, The feature that the CHI is missing is a tempurature setting, there isnt one, you get to choose on or off. Try FHI brand flat iron. they are as good of quality as CHI maybe a bit better, they have a temp setting, from 150-450. so therefore if you first get your iron and you cant use it really fast yet you can use it on a lower setting, so not to burn up your hair, when you get used to using it and can move it through your hair faster you can turn up the setting, this isnt an option with the CHI, which i have learned is the reason so many people dry out their hair with a flat iron. You should definately use some kind of syling product on your hair when its wet to protect it while flatironing.

The thing is people think the CHI is the only iron out there, then those same people are the first to tell you a flat iron will ruin your hair, I think i have explained why....The FHI is only available in salons, they retail for about the same as CHI, maybe a bit lower...call around and see which salon in your area can get you one..You will love it.. If money is an issue, i recommend look around local retailers for a cermaic iron, with a temperature gauge, not just on and off switch..Hope this helps you.

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

I have annoyingly wavy hair. It's the worst when I wake up.

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

This should be done when you go to bed and sleep with it in...

All you have to do is...

1.Part your hair at the side

2.Brush the hair around your head and put bobby pins every in inch you go plus when needed

3.When you wrapped it around once the extra hair should be wrapped around something big and round , you can use a toilet paper roll.. works good... but if u don't have that then use a big roller

4. Secure every inch of hair that goes by when wrapping around roller

5. Wrap whole head with bandanna or some kind of cloth to protect from frizz.

6. The next morning just take everything out and flip hair up and down , brush , style as desired and you got it... STRAIGHT HAIR!!

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

Nope, sorry-

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

When you say straightener what do you mean? You can use straighting irons and the protective products that go along or you can get a chemical straightener done. It depends on how much and how often you want to spend.

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

Setting lotion and big enormous hair curlers - sit under warm dryer and let cool then take down and comb. That is how we did it to straighten out hair in the 70's. Also, we spritzed out hair with water mist and ironed our hair on the ironing board with the clothes iron.

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

sorry, good luck maybe try dead head

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

Flat brush and a blow dryer with the flat nosel.

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

One way to do it without any tools at all would be to brush it or comb it out and then twist it into a bun before you sleep. When you undo it in the morning, it should be smooth (it won't be perfectly straight).

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

brush and a blow dryer

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

The only way you can straiten your hair is with a ironing board an an iron. Other than that I have no clue.

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

Blow dry, roller set, or flat iron

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

my neice use to iron her hair straight.i have the same problem, itis a pain in the A$$,i usually blow dry it but it still ends up frizzy and out of control it soooooooooo annoying

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

A hard brush and a blow drier thats how i get mine in check brush and blow it at the same time

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

try a black perm or a hot oil treatment

Any way to straighten hair without using a straighter?

use a big round brush and the hairdryer. That the oldfashioned way but a lot of people and salons still use it and it looks soo nice!!!

How to Straighten Hair

http://hair-care-info.blogspot.com/2006/...

What products help to straighten hair?

Like conditioners, shampoos, balms and stuff.

I have very wavy, thick, wiry hair, and my straighteners are rubbish, though i've ordered some GHDs, but im not sure if they will be good enough for my hair.

What products help to straighten hair?

I'm not sure which GHD's you have ordered but they do sell a thicker plate straightener which is used on Afro hair and might be better for your hair type than the usual ones. The best thing to do is use an anti frizz shampoo and conditioner (such as Frizz-Eaze or Lee Stafford poker straight range) and then blow dry your hair straight first using a cylinder shaped brush, concentrating on small sections of hair at a time. Then just run through your straighteners afterwards. Don't forget to use a heat protecting spray to minimise damage and then end with a frizz fighting serum like Frizz Ease - they do different types depending on your hair.

What products help to straighten hair?

brushes

What products help to straighten hair?

if you have very thick hair and its wavy your gonna need more than just hair balm and shampoo.. you need a flat iron or at least a blow dryer with a comb on it

What products help to straighten hair?

I have very curly hair and use john freeda straighting shampoo and conditioner followed by hair serum, john freeda straighting products are the best i have ever used. but if your straightners dont go above 220 degrees get some that do other wise you will just end up with one big frizz ball. Hope this helps.

What products help to straighten hair?

Straight and Sleek shampoo and conditioner from Avon.

What products help to straighten hair?

I have thick, wavy hair. Sunsilk Straighten Out Shampoo, Conditioner, and 24/7 Creme work wonders. They're about 4 bucks a piece practically anywhere shampoos are sold and 3 bucks a piece on sale.

Is your hair have natural color or u make some other color? You know some kind of treatment on hair like relax?its the better way to straighten your hair and after that use only conditioner and a cream for treatend hair..coconut oil conditioner is better for hair, dont use blower your hair might go dry when its wet,let it dry for it self..i hope that works on your hair..

What products help to straighten hair?

I bought the permenant straightening kit from boots, it works a treat but you need to be very carefull and follow the instruction carefully.......

No damage done to my hair and it lasts about 4-5 months well worth it..

What products help to straighten hair?

tigi do great hair stuff and if you buy the whole regime it works really well. I bought a set that contained shampoo, conditioner, straightening balm and straightening spray. When i use them all together i barely have to straighten my hair at all.

What products help to straighten hair?

Wash and condition hair regularly.

Press dry. Ensure your hair is nearly dry when you start.

Divide your hair in many parts and tie your hair above your head. You should dry the lower layers first.

Draw the brush of your dryer down the parts of hair while you keep on straightening each portion. Your dryer should be moving throughout.

Repeat this process with each section.

Should i straighten unaturally curly my hair?i just curld it last year...and its soo frizzy now...?

im just worried if i straighten my hair,i will look like an egg-head..PLS answer as fast ! (im a gurl using my bro's account by the way)

Should i straighten unaturally curly my hair?i just curld it last year...and its soo frizzy now...?

i think that you should straighten it with a flatiron, but as far as relaxing goes, don't do it. Putting chemicals on top of chemicals will cause your hair to fall out. Also, don't flatiron too much as you will get heat damage on your already weak strands from chemically perming. And also remember to moisturize and use a heat protectant before flat ironing!

Should i straighten unaturally curly my hair?i just curld it last year...and its soo frizzy now...?

I have naturally curly hair so i alternate. Ill usually wear my hair straight 2-3 times a week and curly the other days. If you straighten it every day it will most likeley get damaged.

Should i straighten unaturally curly my hair?i just curld it last year...and its soo frizzy now...?

yes but wash it first and condition, use garnier frutis or pantene. then blow dry and straighten.

hope i helped.

Should i straighten unaturally curly my hair?i just curld it last year...and its soo frizzy now...?

Not when I could use a straightening iron. It's not a bad idea, its just that when you decide that you want to do your hair curly sometime, you won't be able to, and I believe its better to have open options.

As for your hair looking flat, yeah, it might, but it'll be straight. You have to weigh your options. would you rather hassle with the frizz, or risk having flat, boring hair?

I straighten my hair everyday , what are some products i can use so i dont damage my hair?

Tressemme have alot of heat protection products check out there website nd see wot u can find x

I straighten my hair everyday , what are some products i can use so i dont damage my hair?

Well first you could try only straightening it every other day. Wet to dry ceramic straighteners apparently are the healthiest because they evaporate the water out. Buy a good shampoo %26amp; conditioner for dry or hard to straighten hair, and a good leave in conditioner. And also buy a heat proof spray/gel.

I straighten my hair everyday , what are some products i can use so i dont damage my hair?

Well, the simplest answer to that question would be none. You will do damage to your hair no matter what product you use!! Give your hair a break every few days and you'll see less damage. On the days that you do straighten, try something like Joico K-Pak Protect and shine. You can get it at Ulta or Emiliani (or Joico Salons). Just a few pumps (no more than 3 or 4 for medium long hair) to damp hair before drying, and you'll see less frizz! Or you can use any other Joico serums after you straighten to tame the split ends that will more than likely stick out! Good luck! --Julie--Licensed Cosmetologist

I straighten my hair everyday , what are some products i can use so i dont damage my hair?

you need to use an anti heat defence spray one that is for your hair type/

I straighten my hair everyday , what are some products i can use so i dont damage my hair?

The Tresseme Thermal Creations products are good; get the ones especially for straightening

If you can splurge get the Aquage Beyond Shine shine spray-it doubles as a heat protectant and it's amazing. It's 13-ish dollars, but it's so worth it

Hope I helped!

My hair won't stay straightened?

Okay so I HAVE to ride my bike to school everday. My parents can't take me nor my friends and I don't have a bus. I straighten my hair sometimes but the humidity and wind un-straighten it. I try putting it in a ponytail with hairspray and then take it out and brush it but that makes it flip out at the ends. My hair is naturally straight except for the ends they flip out naturally. I was thinking of trying Tresemme's Wind %26amp; Humidity Control Hairspray. Does it work? What can I Do?

My hair won't stay straightened?

Try a product called SMOOTH %26amp; SEAL by Sexy Hair Concepts...its silicone based therefore its humidty resistant.

If you straighten your hair will it make your hair straight even if you wash it?

i have curly hair and it doesnt happen.but my friend does straightens her hair everyday and now has it wavy not curly

If you straighten your hair will it make your hair straight even if you wash it?

well yeah if you have curly hair it doesnt stay straight after a shower

maybe your friend blow drys her hair with a brush which would make it less curly

If you straighten your hair will it make your hair straight even if you wash it?

Yeah, mine does.

If you straighten your hair will it make your hair straight even if you wash it?

Naturally curly hair, when damaged, will lose some of its curl. Its most likely not that the hair has "learned" to become straight, but that straightening it has damaged it, and made it lose some of its texture. Chemically straightening, or heat straightening the hair is not good for it, and will leave hair in a less healthy condition than before you straightened it.

If you straighten your hair will it make your hair straight even if you wash it?

If you use a mechanical hair straightener your hair will return to the curly state once you wash it. A chemical straightener is a different thing and will damage your hair if used that often. I have used the hair straightener and I have not noticed any difference in my curls when I don't use it.

Is it safe to straighten your hair a couple days after highlighting it?

my hair is curly and i had highlights put in exactly one week from today. i was wondering if it would be damaging to my hair for me to straighten in today.

Is it safe to straighten your hair a couple days after highlighting it?

I straighten my hair the same day I get it highlighted and it's always fine. I use a protective spray but I mostly use that because it makes my hair softer.

Straighten away!

Is it safe to straighten your hair a couple days after highlighting it?

nope.. just make sure you use alot of heat protecting stuff for your hair. I get my hair bleached every 2 months and straighten it everyday.

Is it safe to straighten your hair a couple days after highlighting it?

No it'll be fine. If you want you can just use hair straightening heat protection stuff, but I personallyd on't like it. I have straightened my hiar almost every day for three years now and they say it damages you hair but really it doesn't. Every body tells me I have soft pretty hair, so you'll be fine!!

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

go to a hair salon and get a Japanese straighting, since you hair will always grow you can never "permanently" straighten your hair but the Japanese straighting will stay for 6 months

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

go to hair stylists and the put a chemical in your hair that relaxes your hair and the pull it straight with the chemical in your ahir it will me it straight but if you have curly hair and you donot want your straight hair any more you cannot make it curly again you either have to grow your hair out or perm it or shave it and let it grow back. I hope this helped

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

there is no true permanent way to straighten hair. you can get a perm on any sort of hair. if u get a perm on straight hair u can make ur hair curly. or on curly hair make it straight. but this only lasts until your hair fully grows out. there are many diffirent types of perms, small curls, waves, straight...whatever. they carry a lot of good at home kits at sally's beauty supply. i have naturally straight hair...n sometimes i wish my hair was curly! but sometimes i think i am just happy with what i got. good luck.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Yes. My cousin has beautiful curly hair, which she hates, and she perms it straight. Once it is permed, it is straight forever, but you have to keep perming the roots, which will, of course, grow curly. Also, make sure you go to a very good salon since the process can be highly damaging. And you'll need a once a week treatment like kerastase for sure.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

only for a short period. you can have your hair straightened and it will last a month at the most. there are products such a shampoos that will straighten hair. plus you can hav it done by a hair dresser.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Not "permanently" but you could go for some sort of perm. I wouldn't do it only because a friend of mine got it done and her hair was straight but very damaged.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Yes. It's called chemically relaxed. There are several ways to do this process, however, all ways included using chemicals that are highly alkaline and have a pH of 9 or higher!! This is HIGHLY damaging to the hair. The best thing would be to use lots of heat protection sprays and either blow out your hair or flat iron.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

You can chemically straighten your hair. The process and the associated treatments and cut, will take from 2 hours for short hair to about 5 hours for really long hair. A treatment is always necessary to restore moisture and sheen, and a cut is needed to remove dry ends and because a cut that works on curly hair never works on straight. The procedure, in short terms, basically involves putting a perm like conditioning solution on the hair and combing through root to end. You will want to make an appointment with your local stylist for best results. Home procedure is not recomended, Revlon, PHYTO,and Redkin are all good brands.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

not permanently, but you can buy kits to take the curl out, just like a perm, but reversed. But if your hair is naturally curly, it will grow back in curly. If you are just trying to straighten a perm, ask your stylist. I used a kit by Matrix to straighten mine. It worked really well.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Ha, this is actually a loaded question because it would actually depend on what you meant by 'permanently'. Since a chemical process only lasts until you are uncomfortable with your regrowth, IE: straight roots growing back in and perm on your ends still, or curly roots coming in after a 'relaxer' (or chemical straightener), the answer is both YES and NO. Yes, it will be permanently straight for a period depending on how fast your hair grows, and how often your own stylist reccommends your getting your relaxer retouched. Regrowth which would be your normal hair texture growing back in, needs to then be straightened...I believe the time period is 6-8 weeks depending on like I said your hairstylist and how fast your hair grows. But NO, you cannot completely straighten your hair 'forever'. However certain bodily changes such as puberty, pregnancy, menopause and certain systemic illnesses such as cancer, can cause your hair to change quite dramatically. So can a hair cut. If your hair has been long, and thick, straight and heavy all your life, cut it shorter, add some layers, and you may find out you have lots of curl in there. Reason? You remove the weight from the hair and the curl bounces up. Same holds true for curly hair. Want to tame it down, let it grow a bit. Hope this helps.

Aly

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

No way to permanently straighten your hair but an easy way is to buy the vidal sassoon blowdryer, it has attachable brushes that go with it and you blow dry your hair and straighten at the same time no hassle at all and you have to dry your hair anyway...i've been using it for years

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

you ever heard of Magic Straight? it is a chemical straightening of the hair.

here's a good website with someone's actual experience with Magic Straight: http://home.comcast.net/~gaelen/yuko.htm

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Nothing is permanent! It grows out, and looks ugly! I got it done to my curls and regret it. When it grows the roots were curly while the rest of my head was straight/wavy. If your hair grows fast i don't recommend you do it. You'll have to put a relaxer in your hair quite often and if damages your hair so bad! Embrace ur curly locks. Try hair products like bumble to bumble that are made specially for us curly folk. If not try juss get ur hair blown out once in a while for a straight look.

Is there a way to "permanently" straighten hair?

Yes- go to your local salon and ask for a"chemical straightner"

or they may call it a relaxer- depending on your hair type and how curly it is and what other chemical work youve done to your hair in the past-your results will vary depending on these things- and you will still have to return every several weeks to "touch up" the regrowth area (your hair will still grow curly out of your scalp)

I need help on my naturally curly hair?

ok im 21 i have naturally curly hair do you any of you girls have any tips on where i can buy some good straightening hair stuff that the my hair wont go back curly after i straight it with an iron that will be great bc it can go straight but then it will curl alittle bit

I need help on my naturally curly hair?

I have the same problem, and I can stand it. Mine never stays perfectly straight, though.

Straighten your hair in small portions, and layers. After spray your hair with hairspray. It works really well.

I need help on my naturally curly hair?

Go to the nearest hairsalon and get this hair stuff calld hot set or hot stuff it will work it might be stiff at first but just brush it and it will all be good

How do you straighten hair?

I'm a 26 years old (late starter) and will try straigtening my hair for the first time! I have some of that protective spray and a pair of straighteners. The rest is a bit alien to me.

How do you straighten hair?

Hi my name is Stephanie and I'm a cosmetologist. When I straighten my own hair, I usually put a small amount of an oil based product (ie.redken heat glide or farouk biosilk-silk therapy)in my hair first. If your hair is really curly and thick you might want to pull it into a ponytail and smooth out as much as you can to keep from making your arms tired. Start at your neck line with the rest of your hair pulled up. Work your way up in rows of about 1/2 to 1 inch so you will have even pressure and heat through-out. Smooth from root to tip at all times. *TIP* When you get to the top of your head make sure that you straighten in the direction you want your hair to lay (such as parts and bangs) and try not to hold the strait iron in one place for a long time or you will ptt a crease in your hair. When you're finished, put alittle more silk stuff or spray on your fly aways...but careful not to put to much on your scalp (will make too oily and cause drandruff)!

How do you straighten hair?

salon is the best place. a bit pricey but worth it. nothing you have to do, just let them help you. you walk out with a good-looking hair, no mess no stress

How do you straighten hair?

Get a flat iron (like a curling iron) when done use some frizz gel to stop flyways

How do you straighten hair?

make sure your hair is all dry then spray on the protective spray and straighten your hair in sections. you can pull some of your hair up in a clip if u want to get it out of the way so you can straighten sections at a time to make it easier. then after you can put a smoothing cream on it to smooth down any flyaways. i use garnier fruticus sleek and shine smoothing serum. and i use v05 heat protecting spray before i straighten my hair. if your hair doesnt hold well in humidity bring a dryer sheet in your purse ( im not kidding ) and if it starts getting frizzy then run the dryer sheet over your hair and it smooths it all out again.

How do you straighten hair?

the salon is the best place, they do the best job, just pricey. If not, then try matrix smoothing system. It's easy wash your hair, while it's wet spay this stuff on it (Try buying it at cost cutters, it's less expensive) then you can straighten it with a curling iron (yes, a curling iron) don't curl it just start at the top and slowly pull the curling iron down it a straight motion. You can buy all the stuff for like 50 bucks, and it lasts at least 6 months.

How do you straighten hair?

Have some leave-in conditioner handy too; the one that is labeled especially for straightening hair. Before using any electrical appliances on your hair, make sure it's well conditioned because all that heat will damage your hair. Trust me. Don't straighten your hair every week though. Let your hair rest so it can keep its moisture so it won't dry out. Have fun! I was a late starter myself. Enjoy!

How do you straighten hair?

You can go to a salon to get your hair relaxed (do *not* do this at home), use a flatiron (be very careful and use a protective spray, serum, or conditioner because they will damage your hair if you don't), or get a vented round brush with plastic or rubber bristles and a hairdryer on hot or medium heat and blow your hair dry while gently and slowly pulling the brush through small sections of your hair (this is the cheapest and least damaging way to straighten).

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

which one do you think is better?

I have shoulder length hair. i used to have long straight hair but i cut it and it became poofy at the end. eew.

should i make it wavy, big curls or straighten it???

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

Straighten it. You'll still have the option of waves and big curls if you use hot rollers or a curling iron once in a while. If you go curly it is harder to straighten it out. Plus if it is a perm you won't have the option of straightening it without ruining the perm.

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

i look better will straight hair. and i like straight myself. try them both out and see what works for u :D

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

Streighten it.

I usually straighten my hair on a daily basis, but when I get bored, I usually curl my hair for a speciall occasion, or just for fun.

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

I would go with what the natural form of your hair is...easier to maintain %26amp; healthier for your hair because you don't have to use a lot of heat %26amp; chemicals. I prefer wavy because I already have wavy hair.

Maybe you didn't get a very good hair cut...If you have poofiness problems (as I do) I would recommend more layers.

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

straight

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

Would you curl or straighten your hair?

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

I straighten my hair with a Maxius Maxi glide hair straightener and it gets it straight but When I go out side it gets all poofy and I hate it. What can I do? -Thanks-

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

before strightening apply few drops of anti frizz serum on your hair

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

Straighten it again.. straight is best

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

you should try an anti frizz moose

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

i straighten my hair and use to have the same problem, and thats becuase of the humidity outside, you have to use some type of oil to put int your hair, but don't put alot! then after you straighten it spray on this thing called simply straight buy marc anthony ( it says to put it on before but that doesn't help so i put it on after i straighten!)

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

Sounds like the humidity's getting to it. You'll need to use some product as well as straightening it.

Try a straightening serum (Pantene Pro-V makes a great one) before your start straightening, or seek out a shampoo and conditioner that's specifically for use with straighteners.

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

Is it possible that it Rained there? If so,Its due to the humidity there.Did you try a Hair Spray called "Pump It Up"?If not,try it.Dont get the one thats a gold color through the bottle.Get the White Bottle, because it lasts longer.Ive had hair clients say that the White Bottle of Pump It Up lasts longer and lets the hair breath. The Gold color sufficates the hair making it unable to breath, and leaving it to break off when you wash it out in the shower.

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

The key is to make sure you get a good flat iron, but also get a good spray that is designed for this but the main product that will keep your hair from frizzing is called "OIL SHEEN" its by pantene and the can is like a copper color its at most stores. Spray your hair after your done straightening it and you will love it. Im not black.

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

before you straighten, use straightener cream. Then when your done straightening, apply a nickel sized drop of Shine Serum. Then move your hair around by shaking your head and spray an Extra Hold Hair Spray(use Dove) and then Let the hair spray cool off alittle. Then Brush it one more time and then your set.

Tip: Carry a small bottle of hair spray around in your purse for touch ups.

I Hope this works!!!

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

try by blowing hair up side down and hold brush and blowdryer right to the hair on high heat, also use sun silk frizz controll shampoo and conditioner, and fallow through with the defrizz lotion

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

Well right now you canmake sure you straighten your hair with individual layers. So if you tie your hair like you are putting it in a little pony tail and just slowly keep straightening those layers it should work.

Also, maybe it is time you get a straightener that has a hotter temperature. Yes they are expensive but you can find really nice ones that will last long and even have warranties on them.

Finally, there are many anti poof products you can use. Such as there is a cheap $7 product that you can find at any grocery store, walmart, or target. That is called FRIZZ-EASE by JOHN FRIEDA there are many different types for your hair type.

That should do it. Even then you could use a tad bit of hair spray when your finish just wave it over your overall head.

I straighten my hair but it get's wavy again when I walk aroud and go outside?

Get it chemically straightened.....it works, nad you dont evan have to straighten it in the mornings!!
