i live in a place with high humidity. i have an awsome straightner but my hair won't stay straight in the awful humidity and when i sweat. any advice?

i have this problem too! and the best thing that works for me is to make sure my hair is completely dry using either a blowdryer or air dry then in sections using the best of the best and nothing else straighten it with the maxi glide if you dont have it get it that will solve your problem believe me!

Don't use any serum that has water in it - it will not last as long and it might not even work for you if the humidity is really high.

Here's what I do ... and I live in SE Georgia on an island and have curly hair. I wash with heat activated/moisturizing shampoo %26amp; conditioner. Then, I put in some "get it straight" moose, let it get mostly dry and blowdry it as straight as possible. I use my flat iron after that and a frizz free shine serum to set it in place.

Also, there are these "things" you can get at Walmart. I don't know what they're called, BUT, they're strips of plastic that basically velcro to each other, so you can comb (not brush, when wet) your hair and let it air dry in them, then use the flat iron with frizz free serum.

(I prefer the second, as to not incur too much damage on my hair. And since I use my flat iron everyday, I'm always sure to do some intense moisturizing 3-4 times a month.)

Something else I have tried. Try letting your hair air dry curly with a frizz free pomade or light moose that controls frizz. THEN, use your flat iron. It's easier to control that frizz from wet hair, then trying to fix it when you're hair is already dry. Always be sure to use SOME kind of serum, pomade or shine that is frizz free AFTER you finish styling.

I always spray hair before i run a flat iron through it. The spray I use is Sebastian shaper plus. It is humidity resistant which will keep it flater longer. Plus by spraying the hair before you iron it, you are protecting it. And healthier hair is always shiner and less frizzy
