First of all you have to make sure you have a flat iron that gets hot enough. If you are using something that cost 19.99 from Walmart your probably wasting your time. Good flat-irons are costly but well worth it.

Now assuming you have a good quality flat iron you must start out with a thermal heat protectant spray on your hair so straightening your hair does the least amount of damage to your hair.

Clip hair into half up half down style so that you flat-iron the underneath first.

Spray hair with thermal spray.

Comb thru hair..

Take small (about 1 inch ) sections of hair and start flat ironing at root of hair moving very slowly down the shaft of the hair to the end.

Continue this technique all the way around the head until desired result is accomplished.

Once underneath is finished remove clip and repeat process on top layer of hair.
