How can I straighten my hair without it frizzing?

Everytime I straighten my hair it still looks a bit frizzy. I have natural straight hair with a slight wave to it, which i hate. I see alot of girls with smooth soft shiny straight hair and i can never look like that. I'm not trying to follow the crowd, I just want my hair to look nicer. Any suggestions?

John frieda, frizz ease hair serum. It is mad expensive but you only need a little bit and it WORKS!

I have curly frizzy hair - but I can get it to look strait and smooth. The thing I use is citra-shine hair wax. Hair Wax is what you need - it makes the hair smooth and weighs it down so it is strait. It doesn't feel sticky or anything if you don't use too much. Keep it away from your scalp though.

Put the wax all over your hair and then flat iron it.

Buy soem Pomeade you can get several cheaper brands from the drug store, after you wash your hair towel dry, when still damp, rub soem poeade in your hair and then style. I learned that becaus I have natural curls and they frizz. Now I can straighten no problems!

Use a ceramic gold plate iron, and use a little bit of John Frieda frizz ease products before you straighten a section of your hair.

you must use a product with silicone in it. put the product in your hair while it's still pretty wet, then air dry without touching it at all until it is bone dry. do not use a hairdryer or mess with it while it's still damp. once it's dry, use a flat iron to straighten further if needed and finally get a spray product with silicone to finish.

also, condition the heck out your hair and don't wash it every day unless it gets super dirty.

if you really want it to be super straight, get it chemically relaxed but know that the chemicals they use for this damages your hair quite a bit. this works for me- i go from tight kinky curls (think white girl with african-american hair) to stick straight.

my hair is kinda wavy too. I tried frizz ease, and about a billion other things without success. Everyones' hair is different, so those things might work for you, but you are not going to believe what i found helps my hair straighten out. Pantene hydrating curls-- seriously hydrating CURLS. I had given up on finding something that would help me straighten my hair and decided to go curly. It seriously works the opposite for my hair. I use the shampoo and conditioner, and I let my hair dry part of the way back in a pony tail (I'm sure that a round brush and a hair dryer would work better, but I don't have the time)

I have the same hair you do. My hair pretty much straight but has a natural wave to it. My hair is really thick too and straightening it takes forever. I use a conditioner in the shower and when I get out I then put on a leave-in conditioner like Paul Mitchell's Conditioner (it's a blue gel you put through your hair while it's wet). I brush out my hair and blow dry it while brushing it the entire time. When my hair is just slightly damp I then part my hair into different section and straighten the underneath first with a ceramic straight iron and then do each layer until I do the top. I then usually finish it off with either BedHead After Party or BioSilk to keep the little hairs down. It's a long process, about an hour, but when I do it right it looks really good and I get lots of compliments. Good luck!

You can use almost any kind of de-frizzing product. You just can't use too much or it will make your hair look greasy.

Don't know why you would hate a bit of a wave. Waves are pretty but I know the style is straight. I also know that my hair sounds just like yours. LOL! Try one of those flat irons. There are a variety of them. The ceramic ones are kinder to your hair. Do a deep oil condition on your hair right before you use it. There are also the kind of shine conditioners like sunflower oil you can put in the palm of your hand and rub in and then use the flat iron, starting from as close to your head as you can get and slowly work your way down. Use smaller sections of hair, that way you don't burn your hair if you use too big of sections and leave the iron on too long. Good luck and you're pretty enough, even with pretty wavy,(can't blame you about the frizzy part...lol) hair. :) Sheri :)

if your hair is still frizzy after straightening, then it means your straightening iron isnt doing it's job properly. If you have the right iron.. then you won't even need to use any products in it to keep it straight.... it will just stay straight on its own. I use a GHD... it's top of the range.. cost over $300, but let me tell you, it's worth every cent... just to prove how amazing it is, i once straightened an african american ladies FRIZZ... it was dead straight for a week, until she washed it again. if you can't afford that... then go for the ones around the $100-$200 mark... and hairspray works wonders while straightening... don't use oils, i'm against them, they make your hair more oily then shiny, and they don't help it stay straight.

i was just reading some of the other answers... whatever you do, DO NOT put silicon in your hair... silicon is dangerous stuff and will dry your hair out and it will snap off... im serious.... what happens is silicone sticks to each hair folicle and it doenst come off... eventually you get such a huge buildup of it on your hair that moisture from your conditioner can't get in there to keep your hair healthy, and it dries up and snaps off... please don't use silicon.

By the way, Biosilk by Silk Therapy is, as its moniker suggests, actually derived from silk and not silicone -- to support earlier posts, try this one!

before you dry your hair put tresemme heat styling spray in first dry it with a round brush, then spray it on again %26amp; let it air dry then brush your hair %26amp; then use the straight iron on your hair. after you're done straighting it use citre shine laminating spray, but not alot or your hair will get oily, and brush it through %26amp; you're done.
