i have curly hair and it doesnt happen.but my friend does straightens her hair everyday and now has it wavy not curly

maybe your friend blow drys her hair with a brush which would make it less curly

Naturally curly hair, when damaged, will lose some of its curl. Its most likely not that the hair has "learned" to become straight, but that straightening it has damaged it, and made it lose some of its texture. Chemically straightening, or heat straightening the hair is not good for it, and will leave hair in a less healthy condition than before you straightened it.

If you use a mechanical hair straightener your hair will return to the curly state once you wash it. A chemical straightener is a different thing and will damage your hair if used that often. I have used the hair straightener and I have not noticed any difference in my curls when I don't use it.
