I have curly hair and I want to straighten my hair just to see what it looks like and if i like it, I never have before and I'm not sure how to straighten right... like what if I damage my hair forever or something...since I just want to see what it looks like, what if I don't like it and want to go back to curly will it go back to my regular curls once I wash and shampoo it? I have a conair straighter and I also want to know what you think of the conair straighters do they work good or do they suck? I need advice!!

if you straigten your hair, it will not be "damaged forever!" if you don't like how it looks, you can just wash your hair and it will go back to normal. Also, Conair straighteners are the best! i have one and use it all the time!!!

Okay first wash your hair with a straighteneing shampoo or smoothing shampoo.
Next apply heat protection...always use heat protection or your hair will singe....
Blow dry your hair straight in "two sections" where your clip up half of your hair so only the bottom section is down. You will have more control over your hair, then ust grab random sections with a vent brush and brush downwards. It doesn't matter if they kink as yet.
When the bottom half of your hair is dry, unclip the top half and dry using the technique.
Next use heat protection again and use the staighteners in the same way. Or you could always go to a salon and get Japanese Straighteneing

My dauhgters have wicked curly hair! We straighten their hair for fun all the time... It wont damage your hair. But dont straighten it when it's wet!!! That might damage it. Also, your curly hair will spring back to normal after a day or two or after a shower.... even if it touches water... it will curl back. And I think Conair is like the best straightener. We own one also! To straighten your hair all you have to do is basically pretend it's a brush and go through every part of your hair to make it straight. It takes us about 10 minutes to do one of their heads. Well Good luck! :]
I want to straighten my hair....?
i straighten my hair everyday!
there are directions in or on the box.
you take a piece of hair after heating up the straightner and
then run it through the piece of hair.
May have to do this more than once on the same piece.
Then proceed to go around the head.
your hair will go back to curly if you wash it
straightners damage your hair to a certain extent but if you condition right and take good care of it, it will be fine.
i have a conair straghtner and it works great!
those (in my opinion)are the best!!
Hope i helped and alll goes well!

If you straighten your hair once, it's not going to damage your hair forever. If you use a good heat protectant on your hair, you should be fine. When you wash your hair you should use a shampoo and conditioner that hydrates your hair or that repairs damaged hair or something for split ends. That helps the hair so that it doesn't dry out with all the heat and helps repair the hair if it has a lot of split ends or if it looks brittle. And don't worry, your hair will not stay permanently straight, it is only temporarily.
Conair should be fine. What is usually recommended is to buy a ceramic straightener and with ions. This way the hair suffers less.
I hope this helps.
I want to straighten my hair....?
i have naturaly curly hair, n my cuz has got afro curly hair, n i straighten hers with my GHD's and they straighten it perfect, and also straighten mine too, n i can still get the curls ,that i had as a kid ,back whenever i want, and i have used straighters for years. Honestly it wont dammage your hair at all, and if your that worried about damaging it, then use a heat protector on your hair first just to be sure. it will be fine, you have my word
I want to straighten my hair....?
Well I'm a Singaporean Chinese and have wavy hair, which is rare...
Personally I do sometimes dislike it but I've found ways to overcome this problem...
I followed a pic showing a japanese girl with rebonded fringe(split side ways) with wavy sides(check out ViVi magazines or search for pics)
So I went to AMK Hub basement hairsalon called '#1 hairsaloon' and u can rebond yr fringe for just $36 and it last for 4-7 mths if u're a student. Best go in non-peak hours like weekdays noon time
Don't iron your hair too often! If you do, you'll 'stretch' your hair, making it more retracted as in back to curlier form or untidy ones when touch water.
I use Johnsons Baby oil to maintain its smoothness after towel dry and apply Sunsilk Straightening hair serum(around $3+) before blowing it straight with curling brush(cylinder form) Blow with cool and hot air(for fringe only) and whola! Best with friend's or guardian's help. I always make a habit for sweeping all my fringes back to blow it straight with ease
Hope this help =) Ciao
