I straighten my hair?

i straighten my hair a fair bit. not everyday, but a lot... lol. and i was wondering what are some good ways to protect it? i don't blow dry my hair, and i don't do anything other then straighten it, but i still want to make sure i am not hurting it. please help?

Buy a heat activated shampoo/conditoner/spray to protect your hair from heat, I reccomend Sunsilk Thermashine.

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks to avoid damage/split ends.

Deep condition once a week to promote healthier hair.

Don't bother combing hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb.

Never straighten/blowdry your hair when it's wet even if it's a "wet2straight" hair straightener, it will damage, frizz and dry out your hair it just burns and kills your hair. Hair is very vulnerable while wet.

Buy a leave in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long.

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week.

Once or twice a month buy a hot oil treatment to restore moisture to your hair from all that heat styling.

Don't use hairspray/gel/moose on your hair, that will dry out your hair even more, also they contain alchohol which drys your hair out.

Stop straightening your hair everyday. Seriously.....try twice a week, before your hair will really get damaged.

a lot of the hair salons carry products that are made for heat damage done to your hair with dryers and straighteners. jsut go in and ask, i'm sure they can help.

use product designed for that, but you are right, try to go natural sometimes, or blowdry your hair on low. there are straightening products also!

Go to Sally Beauty, and get a heat protectant spray. It works wonders and keeps your hair from breaking up and getting ruined. You could also go to a salon and look for the same thing or go to wal-mart or target for something a little cheaper.

get some king of heat protective spray or cream, i use them because i straighten my hair alot too.

Chi sells a product called "Iron Guard" and you're supposed to spray it on each section of your hair before you straighten it. It sounds tedious, but once you get used to it, it's not so bad. If you don't want to spend a lot, I think Herbal Essences sells the same type of product.

get a really good flat iron cream, like Loreal's e-tex lotion, it smells good and works great, especially if it's humid outside! You can usually find it at a salon or you can check e-bay or even amazon.com. Hope this was helpful! If you have curly/wavy hair, and want to enhance it, the john frieda dream curls is great, it's not "crunchy", and so is ISO bouncy spray.

make sure you condition everytime you wash your hair and use hair serum. Also, i would recommened you deep condition at least once a week and you'll be fine.

alrite nena..listen up... i use to flat iron my hair every morning before school and it really messed my hair up... my hair got all freezy and it broke off... so the best thing you should do is use a heat protector.. go to the beauty supply store or walmart they got stuff to protect your hair. the best thing is do not iron your hair everyday though.. please listen to these golden words!!! cuz i dont want your hair to get messed up like mine.
