Why do strait haired girls straighten their hair if they love curly hair so much?

Just wondering, i have naturally curly hair. Every time i ask one of my friends why they straighten their hair, they say, " Because it gets curly if i don't". Then, some people say to me, " I Love your curly hair! I wish mine were curly." If you know why, is there any thing you want to share?

For me, I have weird curly hair - not cute ringlets like my curly haired friend, but heavy waves, especially in the back but in the front it stays pretty strait. When I try to wear it curly it looks really bad - like I have bed head or didn't brush it out right. I'm assuming thats probably the kind of curliness that your friends have too. If I had ringlets I'd wear those curly.

I have straight hair. And I love it. But yet, sometimes I want a difference for my hair. When I curl my hair, it just doesn't really fit with my look or blend in with the rest of me. So, that's my reason why. There could be plenty of other reasons.

Sometimes, you want your hair to be a certain way, but then you want it to be another way. I mean, I have straight hair, ad sometimes, I wish I could have the beautiful wavy hair some girls have, but I love my straight hair.

And it's a good thing people invented curling irons too, because sometimes, I want curly hair. Lol!

I dont get that either...I have extremely strait hair, and i never straighten it. All my friends straighten theirs and they are like....you have great straight hair! but yet they think i should straighten it to make it more straight. I just dont get it. If i dont straighten it, at least it has a little bounce...plus heat damages.

Straight hair is probably good for me, since curls can be harder to maintain...but it gets boring sometimes. Curly hair is prettier, i think, but i'll live with mine.
