You can get it permanently straightened at a hairdresser. I have thick hair too, and have decided I prefer mine curly, but it just takes much longer with thick hair to straighten it. You have so much more of it to do. Either have patience, or chemicals!

You could get it profesionally done or you could use a straightener for thick hair. I use helen of troy .

While straightening thick hair you should separate it into thin layers and and straighten thin strips at a time. If you don't want to use a flat iron you could always dry your hair straight. You still have to part your hair in sections. To make it easier either way you do it you should use a leave in conditioner to make your hair easier to style and part. Good luck!

Hi,

I have curly hair so I know I could be a great help. I make sure I air dry my hair, do not use hair dryer because it will make it ver puffy. I also don't use a brush because that creates volume and you don't want that if you already have thick hair. I use a tooth comb, that helps a lot. Also you can try putting so "Thermasilk" (can be bought at Sam's club) in your hair when it's wet, this will keep it down. Hope this helps. : )

Well, if you wanted to you could always have your hairdresser thin out your hair a bit, but not to much. Or you could get it permanatly straigtened, but whatever you do dont try to use a cheap straitener, it wont work.

If you want to straighten your hair without chemicals, buy a straightening iron. Make sure you get a professional model with different heat settings, it will need to be fairly hot to straighten properly. Also make sure to protect your hair from the direct heat by purchasing a spray on product that will cut down damage to the hair shaft.
