At Target they have really good Conair wet/dry hair straighteners that also have a built in curling iron and blow drying system. It works great for me every time and it only cost me $20!

You could buy one of those flat irons that you can use on wet hair and by the time you're done straightening, your hair is dry. I mentioned one of those because yeah, heat damages your hair, but you can get a heat protection cream or serum and put it in your hair while it's still wet, then straighten it with that certain kind of flat iron. I use Loreal Nature's Therapy Heat Control Protection Creme when I blow dry my hair, it works really good. I use to use Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum, that worked even better, but the store I used to buy it from stopped selling it. If you can find that, get it, but pretty much any heat protection stuff works well and does as it says.

Chemicals are bad it can damage your hair but one thing that I have used on my hair to straighten my hair in the last 5 days was the conair instant heat curling iron but you can use it to make your hair straight to. You can purchase it at Target for $14.99/+tax.

Chemically straightening your hair damages it and doesn't always have good results or lasts very long. A good thing to do would be to flat iron it. Some flat irons have tourmaline which claims to not do any damage to your hair. That's not true. All flat do damage to your hair, but some way more than others. If you buy cheap brands such as Connair and Revlon, your hair will not be as straight as you would hope and the texture will become brittle and dry. However, there are alternatives.

I have hair like yours, and I use the CHI flat iron. It does a way better job then cheap flat irons, but comes somewhere around $100 depending on where you buy it. It generally does a great job. Of course, humidity is a factor. Other than that, it's great! I've been thinking of getting a Sedu flat iron, i've heard nice things about it.

Also, I use Rush Str8 cream to help keep it straight and eliminate frizz.

The Wet 2 Straight flat iron at Wal-Mart is only $25 and it works wonderfully and it has different settings for different hair type, it come with a guide that tells you what setting to put it on if your hair is fine and dry, thick and damp and every combination possible.

Chemical straightening is really bad for your hair and you might end up hating it and trying to grow it out, so I'd just go with a temporary fix.

Okay I have the answer for you, so no more worries. You really need a ceramic Iron. It will not break your hair off and you will keep moister and shine in your hair. Your hair will be straight from root to tip and it will last. Trust me I got one and have not had to use anything else. You can look on Design essentials website at www.designessentials.com and you can even ask them your self, how good the product is.
